Levens Arts & Film Society presents 'Celtic Christmas Strings
A festive feast of harp & guitar Featuring Chris Newman & Máire Ní Chathasaigh.

Friends of Levens CE School Christmas Fair
All are welcome to the annual Friends of Levens School (FOLS) Christmas Fair.
This year held on Saturday 10th December 10am - 12pm across two venues, The Institute and Methodist Church, to make space for our usual antics plus 14 local stallholders.

Christmas at Levens Hall
An opportunity to see the world's oldest topiary garden illuminated, and the glorious Elizabethan Hall will be decorated for the festive season + Christmas market & music.

Levens Arts & Film Society presents 'Learning to Fly'
Uplifting, big hearted and utterly hilarious, Learning to Fly sees James tell the story of a remarkable friendship he made when he was a lonely, unhappy teenager with the scary old lady who lived in the spooky house on his street.
It’s about connection, no matter what the obstacles; about love’s eternal struggle with time; about music and its ability to heal.
It’s also about her last wish: to get high once before she died.

The Great (Leasgill) Village Cake Bake
Open to all amateur bakers who live in the South Lakeland area.
Top prize for adults and children.
Closing date for entries Friday 14th October.

Legs Levens recruitment taster nights
The Legs Levens and Limestone Cowboys are looking for new members to join their fun and friendly Appalachian Clog Team.
Love Dancing or playing music? Then why not pop along for a ‘give it a go’ session being held on Wednesday 21st September and 5th October 8-9pm.

Strawberry Tea
Methodist Women in Britain are holding a Strawberry Tea at Levens Methodist Church on Thursday August 11th 2.30-4.30pm

The event will be held in support of Ukraine initiatives and refugees in Bangladesh and Syria

Levens Marquee Dance
The infamous Marquee Dance takes place on on the playing fields on the first Saturday in July each year. It is a family event with a live band, hot food, and bar.

Vintage Tea Party
Come and grab a tea or coffee to enjoy with your jam scone at Levens Playing Fields.

Brigsteer Open Gardens
Featuring plant stalls, cakes & refreshments, free car parking. Light lunches at the Wheatsheaf Inn.

‘Citizen science’ nature watch in the churchyard
St. John’s Church invite you to join in their ‘citizen science’ nature watch in the churchyard to help them find out how biodiverse it is. This is part of a UK-wide programme of biodiversity events that will see data collated on the biological records hub, the National Biodiversity Network.

Lighting of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Beacon
Levens has registered to build and light a beacon on Thursday 2nd June as part of the national celebrations. This will be in the usual field above the village near Hyning likely at 9.45pm.
Levens is also registered to join in the Queen's Green Canopy by planting trees and has come up with a site for a Jubilee Orchard off Underhill - plans still in progress.

Steps For Stories
Join the Friends of Levens CE School for Steps for Stories.
What? A fun filled, organised 5K walk over Sizergh Fell and through Brighter Woods in aid of a new library and books for Levens CE School.
Where? Registration and start from the bus stop at ‘The Green’ in Levens from 09:30-11:00
How much? £5 per ticket or £10 per family (2 adults plus children).
What’s included? Delicious treats and refreshments along the way at our sponsored motivation stations, PLUS map and spotter sheet!!!
…or simply turn up on the day!

Levens Arts & Film Society presents 'Mambo Jambo in concert'
A delightful evening of needlepoint and music awaits with this scintillating selection of the lost knitting songs of WWI and WWII from Canada, Britain, America and France. Audiences are encouraged to bring their own knitting (or crochet) and stitch along to these funny, poignant, toe-tapping, needle-clicking tunes.

Sustainable and community gardening with Greening Levens
Greening Levens are looking at setting up an interest group to learn more about sustainability and leading a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle, with a first meeting planned for Monday 11th April: 7.30pm in the Village Hall, with a talk on sustainable and community gardening, sharing information about current activities and planning future meetings.
All are welcome!
